Hon Secretary's Report

Well … here we are once again, at the start of a new season with a full fixture list to keep us all moving, enjoying the lush fairways, taking in some fresh air, avoiding the rain and enjoying the sunshine & banter!

 

The 2024 active membership is currently at 252. This year we have 17 New Captains along with 1 Past Captain join our ranks. I know that they will be made feel at home during our meetings and matches!

 

Our Website continues to be updated and provides current news on any relevant topics along with Membership and Fixture information. We have made a specific effort to provide transparency wherever possible.

• We would also like to keep the feed of News Items flowing therefore if you have anything significant/deemed worth sharing then please get in touch and we will consider for publication.

 

On-line banking has been well supported and is promoted as the preferred method of payment however we will continue to accept cheque or cash for fees and clothing for any captains unable to use this facility.

 

​There is always the need for Captains to act as club focal points and help with the communication and organisation of GGC members from their respective clubs. If you would like to get involved then please contact me. Many thanks to the captains already helping out in this area.

The responsibility of Team selection for matches has been revised for this year and is shared as follows:

We will ensure that Team selection, with the associated member communication, takes place as early as possible at the start of the season. Members will also have visibility of the Team to be fielded along with venue details well in advance of the match date. This information along with Match reports will be posted on our website.

​

Our aim is to provide everyone with the opportunity to play in the inter-county matches therefore it is important to keep your availability updated.

Please inform me and the relevant Match Manager as soon as possible should you become unavailable.

 

​I will finish by welcoming all new members to our Association and wishing everyone an enjoyable, sucessful season.
