Spring Cup and AGM Meeting  -  Friday 20 April 2018

Filton Golf Club

​

Filton Golf Club hosted the 2018 Spring Cup and AGM.  After a very difficult Winter and early Spring the course was presented in good order.

​

The day started with a heavy early morning mist which soon burned off and by the end of play we were blessed with lovely warm sunshine.

​

The Filton Captain, Ian Wilde, welcomed Gloucestershire Golf Captains (GGC) to the club, hoping that everyone had enjoyed the course and were suitably impressed by the weather that he had arranged for them.

​

GGC Captain Mike Slatter thanked the members of Filton for allowing the Captains to play their course and went on to present the prizes ...

1st     42 points     Paul Drinkwater & John Christie  (Gloucester Golf Club)

2nd    42 points     Mark Robinson & Alistair Frazer- Holland (Lydney Golf Club)

3rd     40 points     Colin Wilson & Mike Knight (Forest of Dean Golf Club)

4th     40 points     Clive Reynolds & Ron Gibson (Chipping Sodbury Golf Club)

5th     40 points     Jim Ford & Trevor Stewart (Chipping Sodbury Golf Club)

Paul Drinkwater thanked the Greens Staff for the work they had obviously carried out to prepare the course in very difficult conditions, he had enjoyed playing and thought the presentaion of the course was a credit to the club.  He also thanked the catering staff for the excellent food that had been prepared and served.

​

The AGM commenced after a ten minute break.
