President's Day at Chipping Sodbury GC on Thursday 4th May 2023.

Hello Captains,

I hope that you enjoyed yourselves and thanks for taking part in our President's Day for Mike Slatter. He did a sterling job and I know that everyone received a warm welcome from Mike's wife Glo, supported by Vicky Watkins & Millie Broady,  who provided various cocktails and drinks with cake & savouries at the halfway house! I've received lots of positive feedback on their hospitality as well as some requests for Glo to provide her recipe for the ginger fruit cake (No chance - it's a closely guarded secret!).

Mike passed on our thanks and appreciation to Ryan Wood, Emily, Ross and the Bar & Catering staff at Chipping Sodbury GC who were obliging, nothing seemed too much trouble, and the food was excellent! Not forgetting JK and his Greenstaff for their efforts in presenting the course in such good condition. He also thanked the Chipping Sodbury GC members for allowing the use of their course.

Mike's day was memorable and I'm sure that his very generous gift to all participants will be put to good use this season.

Thanks must also go to our starters Dave Thomas and Alan Trout who helped ensure that we were all well informed and dispatched on time! A special thanks to Shaun Pearce (Registration desk), Ian Hughes (scorecard printing) and John Cumming (scorecard adjudication) for their help prior to and on the day.

We had 32 teams taking part with all cards returned, so thanks for your part in helping things run smoothly and for your participation in the GGC raffle "Supporting Motor Neurone Disease Association" which is Kevin Ell's (CSGC Captain) nominated charity this year. Kevin received the donation from our captain, Geoff Lowe, on behalf of the GGC Association.

We did battle on a bright and breezy day, the rain stayed away and we had a close fought competition!
