Gloucestershire Golf Captains

On a beautiful sunny day, a team of 20 good men from Gloucestershire Golf Captains set course to play our annual match against the Gloucestershire Ladies Captains, at Alexander Park.

 

I was standing in for captain Geoff who was a guest at a Wiltshire Captains event.

 

On arrival I was met by Val, the GLGCS captain, just a lovely lady who had organized everything so well.

 

The bacon rolls and the dinner after the match were first class and by the hub bub in the dining area a good time was being enjoyed by all.

 

My thanks to John, match manager for his great organization of the day.

 

To the matches, I will not go through them all, but just will say we won the match 6.5 to 3.5.

Dereck & I had a very enjoyable match against Val & Kim, the ladies played exceptional golf and gave us a good hiding, we lost 6&5. oops!!

 

Alexander Park GC is only 8 years old, and was in very good condition. A very pretty and testing course.
