Gloucestershire Golf Captains

My thanks must first go to all the captains who made an epic journey to Aylesbury Vale, thanks in particular to Paul for chauffeuring me and Clive for keeping me awake in the car.

 

I know from the banter and conversation from the groups that everyone had a great time. The course was very impressive, superbly presented and the greens were slick.

 

The food was very nice and all the staff looked after us very well indeed. Phil Payne found plenty of pepper!!!

 

Bedfordshire captain Martin and his partner Lloyd were very good company and there was no more than a hole in our match but Colin and myself succumbed at the 18th, thanks Colin for your great company.

 

I felt very privileged to stand in for our captain Geoff, you missed a lovely day with us but hope you had a good day at the GGU President's meeting.

 

Just to finish, although outgunned we had several close matches, all which were played in a great spirit.

Result Bedfordshire won by 6½  to 1½
