The game was played with usual good spirit, the Devon Captains being in particularly good spirit as they were on the first leg of a two game tour.
​
The course was presented in excellent order, many players commenting specifically on how well it played.  The catering was also well received and everyone left feeling they had enjoyed a good day.
​
Captain Mike Slatter and Captain of Sodbury Clive Reynolds had a good win over their opponents but apart from a big win for Derek Godwin (Lan) and Chris Pearce (CS) the remainder of the team could only muster half a point.
​
The result a disappointing  Gloucestershire 2½ Devonshire 5½
