GGCs v Gwent Captains  -  Monday 21st August 2017  -  The Players Golf Club

Owing to slight confusion over dates we arrived at The Players Club to find no opponents, Gwent having a different date to us.

​

We enjoyed our lunch of chips and a sandwich and decided to play a four ball better ball fiddle with fivers  in the pot playing with our original partners.

 

We enjoyed a very wet course to start with but even before the back nine began we had sunshine and a great round.

​

Roger Downes (Nau) and I were playing with Bill Hill (Shire) and Tony Gough (Lan), all of us enjoying the course with some good holes and great company.

​

The scores were all very close with Tony and Bill winning on countback from Mike and Rex, Capt Mike and Roger third with 41 if only!!! Fancy missing that putt!!!!

​

From adversity we all had a great day and will try to reorganise the fixture.
