Gloucestershire Golf Captains
Gloucestershire Golf Captains vs Berkshire Captains 6th June 2019 at Bristol and Clifton GC.
The match against Berkshire was played at Bristol and Clifton on a day when the Weather threatened to spoil events but thankfully abated very quickly to enable our match to be played in great conditions.
The course was in excellent condition and our thanks were advised to the Vice Captain of B & C who attended the after match dinner.
The catering staff provided a lovely meal of pork medallions followed by a berry pudding. Our thanks were made to the catering staff for a splendid meal.
We had a very good match with Captain Nick and his partner Paul. The game was nip and tuck and at one point we were 2 down but managed to record a 2+1 win. Many thanks to my partner who shot level par on the last 10 holes to guide us home and afford me a win for the first time as Captain.
My thanks to Clive Fluck who was the Match Manager for the day a task performed with due diligence and enthusiasm.
Thank you to all that played especially those that stood in at short notice and I hope you all enjoyed the day. I am pleased to say your efforts were rewarded with a 6-2 Win for Gloucestershire.
