Gloucestershire Golf Captains
Gloucestershire Golf Captains VS Wiltshire Golf Captains. 25th July 2019.
The Match against Wiltshire was played on home soil at Chipping Sodbury.
Weather wise the sun once again shone on the righteous men of Gloucestershire and a very enjoyable day of golf was had by all.
My partner and I played against the Wiltshire, “Skipper for the Day”, Vice Captain Jim Murdoch and his playing partner Bob. A very pleasant afternoon was had by us all with some good golf and excellent banter being enjoyed.
The Course once again was presented in very good condition and I know it was enjoyed by all that played. Our thanks were conveyed at the Dinner to the Greens staff and to the Caterers. Our Dinner was excellent and in truth a vast improvement from an earlier in the year experience. Well done Chipping Sodbury!
I am pleased to advise that our Home advantage proved to give us the edge and we managed to run out winners on the day by 4 ½ to 3 ½.
Another excellent day all round thanks to all those that participated and special thanks to our Match Manager Jim Ford for sorting the day.
