Gloucestershire Golf Captains
Gloucestershire Golf Captains VS Oxfordshire Golf Captains. 17th July 2019.
The match against Oxfordshire saw us travel to the North Oxford Golf Club in Oxford. Once again the weather was fine and kind to the righteous men of our Shire.
Our Hosts and Captain Chris Spearing provided great company and hospitality on a truly enjoyable day.
The course at North Oxford is a little gem in my opinion and the greens were in truly excellent condition - too difficult for me !!
Our game was played in great spirit with Chris and the North Oxford current Captain Dave easing home with a 5 and 3 victory.
The Course at North Oxford is under threat of closure and this may result in domestic housing on the site. As I said at the dinner I hope this does not happen.
At the dinner our thanks were relayed to our hosts and our thanks were expressed to North Oxford staff for a great day via the their Club Captain.
Unfortunately the match saw us just edged out 4 ½ to 3 ½ .
A close call and many thanks to all who participated and to our Match Manager Clive Fluck for sorting out the team and the business side of things on the day.
