Event Details
The Four Counties golf tournament is a team competition held annually between past Golf Club Captains of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
One County will organise the event each year by rotation and the hosts going forward will be Buckinghamshire (2020), Berkshire (2021), Gloucestershire (2022) and so on.
The winners are presented with the Four Counties Trophy and the Best Pairs Trophy, which they retain for the year and are responsible for its care and engraving.
-
The competition is held between teams of 12 playing in 4 BBB Stableford format with full handicap allowance.
-
The best five aggregated pairs’ scores gives the team score and the team with highest total is the winner.
-
In the event of a tie, the best discarded score will decide the winners. If still tied then normal count back rules are applied to the discarded card to decide the winners. So all to play for!
-
A trophy will also be awarded to the pair returning the best 4BBB score. In the event of tie, the winning pair will be decided as described in the final sentence of 3) above.
-
Competitors must have a current “Active” CONGU handicap, with an 18 maximum. A higher handicap player may take part but must do so from an 18 handicap.
-
The Rules of Golf will apply.
-
Local rules will apply as advised by the organising committee.
