Event Details
We travel from Portsmouth by late evening ferry on Sunday 26th April to Le Havre.
-
Party of 20, 18 previous tourists from last year’s 24 and 2 “first timers”. We usually give first right of refusal to previous participants.
-
Alastair Harvey looks after logistics whilst Sam Collins looks after the social side and manages the finances.
-
We play a “fun team Bowmaker” (5 x 4 balls) on Monday 27th at Golf du Havre which is a fairly easy flat inland golf course.
-
The competition is followed by lunch in their cracking clubhouse restaurant and then onward travel to Dormy House hotel at Etretat, a small resort town.
-
The hotel is barely 100 yards from the Etretat golf course on top of the cliffs with fantastic sea views. Here we play two rounds of individual Stableford on Tuesday & Wednesday for The Norman Hodgkiss Holiday Chalice (Current holder is Stuart Revell).
-
Tuesday night’s dinner will be hosted at Etretat Golf Club where they have a superb restaurant.
-
On Wednesday night we will have our Gala Prize Presentation Dinner in the Hotel. All suited & booted, always a grand affair!
-
We return on Thursday 30th on the afternoon sailing from Caen. Our party will find their own entertainment en route. There are lots of interesting WW2 sites they may find to explore, including Pegasus Bridge.
-
Back home late’ish evening.
