Coronation Salver. Stinchcombe Golf Club. 29-5-19
The Coronation Salver, a Singles Bogey Competition, was held at Stinchcombe Golf Club.
The day was well attended with 110 Members taking part.
Unfortunately the weather was poor and the persistent rain and wind made for a very tricky golfing day. The type of day where the thoughts of a hot shower and the bar come very early in the round, (around the 5th for me), at least the Skylarks could be admired !!
That said there were some excellent scores returned with the Salver being won by John Stewart of Gloucester Golf Club. Many congratulations to John.
The course was well presented and our thanks were relayed to the club’s Greens Staff. We were also well fed and watered by the catering staff and our appreciation was advised as was our thanks to Stinchcombe and its members for allowing us the use of their course.
The newbie Captain made a few schoolboy errors which he has since corrected and indeed will learn from going forward. He blames 1st night nerves but more likely to be the onset of dementia!
Anyway for the record many thanks to our Secretary Tony and the Event Organisers, (Jim & Keith), for their hard work and diligence in both sorting and running this event, it was very much appreciated.
